芥川賞
第１６０回（平成３０年度下半期）芥川賞が発表され、文藝春秋３月特別号に全文掲載されている。
受賞作は、上田岳弘の「ニムロッド」と町谷良平の「１Ｒ１分３４秒」。
早速読み始めた。選考委員９名の選評を読むと、なんか難しそうだな・・という感じ。小生のようなぼんくらには、最近の芥川賞受賞作は難解でついていけないようなところが有り、読書感と云われても首をひねる感じのものが多い。若い頃はそうでもなく、結構楽しく読めたように思うが、最近は２・３ページめくると眠気を催し、読みきるのに時間をようすることが多くなった。これって僕だけだろうか？。
ところが今回の２作はそうでもない。「ニムロッド」は、少しその傾向はあるが、それでも昨日一日で読み終えた。「１Ｒ１分３４秒」は、今朝通勤電車の中で読み始めたところで、今夜から明日にかけてという事になるでしょうが、これは単純に面白そう。楽しみだな・・・。
The 160th Akutagawa Prize (the second half of fiscal year ending March 31, 1955) has been announced, and the full text of the award has been published in the March special issue of Bungeishunju.
The winning entries were “Nimrod” by Takehiro Ueda and “1R 1min 34sec” by Ryohei Machiya.
I started reading it quickly. When I read the reviews of the nine members of the selection committee, I felt that it seemed to be difficult. For a young person like me, the recent Akutagawa Award-winning works are too difficult to follow, and many of them leave me with a twinge in my neck when I read them. When I was young, I was able to enjoy reading this book quite a bit, but nowadays, when I turn two or three pages, I get drowsy and take a lot of time to finish it. Am I the only one who does this?
However, this is not the case with these two films. ‘Nimrod’ is a bit more in that vein, but I still finished reading it in one day yesterday. I just started reading “1R, 1 minute, 34 seconds” on the commuter train this morning, and it will be tonight and tomorrow, but it’s simply interesting. It’s going to be fun…..
