船旅は最高の贅沢という。私は海育ちという事もあって子供の頃から船に乗る機会は多く、小・
中学生当事はテンマ船の艪をよく漕いだものである。ところが隠岐之島から本土に渡る船は大の苦手であった。今は、高速艇で１時間、
フェリーだと約３時間程で渡るが、私が高校生位までは６時間を要した。しかも、５００トン位の小さな船（当事は凄く大きく思っていたが・・）
で日本海の荒海を渡るため、一寸時化ていると船室で寝ていてもズズズッ、ズズズッと端から端まで滑り落ちる。可笑しな表現と思うでしょうが、
実際「滑り落ちる」という表現がピッタリとくる凄まじい揺れであった。船酔いの苦しさは経験した者しか判らないが、それはきつい。
その経験があるだけに親の死に目意外は冬は田舎に帰らないと固く決意していた程である。

その私が２８・２９日の一泊２日、にっぽん丸でののワンナイト・クルーズを楽しんだ。
ロータリーの友人から飛鳥やにっぽん丸での船旅の話を何度か聞かされており、一度は乗ってみたいとひそかに思っていた。そんな折、
たまたま知人から「にっぽん丸」のワンナイト・クルーズの案内があった。
船酔いのトラウマがあるだけに一瞬躊躇するものはあったが妻に話すと、「それいいじゃない、行きましょう」の一言。
瀬戸内のナイトクルーズであり、先ず船酔いは大丈夫・・・と決意し申し込んだ。

夕方５時、神戸港の中埠頭で乗船。総トン数２１９０３トンで８階建、超豪華客船の名にはじない素晴らしい船であった。
船内に一歩足を踏み入れたとたん何となくフワッとゆったりとした雰囲気があった。船も豪華だが、
それにも増してお客をもてなそうとする心が船員の一人ひとりに強く感じられ、すごく良いムードが船内一杯に漂っていた。
そんな中で食事やゲームやショーを楽しむ。船はゆったりと貴婦人の如く瀬戸内を行く。
下船は翌日１４時であったが陸上とは別の時間が流れているかのような一時であった。

これで世界一周など夢のまた夢であるが、船旅のとりこになる人の気持ちは判るような気がした。

When I was a junior high school student, I used to paddle the fulls in the paddles of the tenma boat. However, I was not very good at sailing from Oki-no-shima to the mainland. I’m on a speedboat for an hour.
The ferry takes about 3 hours, but it took 6 hours until I was a high school student. Moreover, the small ship weighs about 500 tons (I thought it was very big…)
In order to cross the rough sea of the Sea of Japan, if the time is a little wicked, even if you are sleeping in the cabin, you will slide from one end to the other. I know it sounds like a funny expression, but
In fact, the tremor was so severe that it could be described as “sliding down”. The pain of seasickness can only be understood by those who have experienced it, but it is severe.
Because of this experience, he was determined not to return to the countryside in the winter, except for the death of his parents.

I enjoyed a one-night cruise on the Nippon Maru for two days and a night on the 28th and 29th.
My Rotary friends had told me several times about their boat trips on the Asuka and Nippon Maru, and I had been secretly hoping to try it at least once. at that time
By chance, an acquaintance informed me of a one-night cruise on the Nippon Maru.
I hesitated for a moment because of the trauma of seasickness, but when I told my wife, she said, “That’s good, let’s go.
It was a night cruise in the Seto Inland Sea, so I decided that I wouldn’t get seasick, so I signed up.

At 5:00 p.m., we embarked at Naka Wharf in Kobe Port. It was a wonderful ship with a gross tonnage of 21,903 tons and eight stories, not to be confused with the name of a super luxury cruise ship.
As soon as I stepped inside the ship, there was a vaguely fluffy and relaxed atmosphere. The ship is gorgeous, though.
In addition to that, I felt that each of the crew members had a strong desire to entertain the guests, and there was a very good mood that filled the ship.
Enjoy the food, games and shows in the midst of it all. The ship goes through the Seto Inland Sea like a noblewoman at a leisurely pace.
We disembarked at 14:00 the next day, but it was a moment in time that seemed to be different from the time on land.

This is another dream of a round-the-world trip, but I felt that I could understand the feelings of those who are captivated by the boat trip.

昨日は、香里天風会の秋の一日行修会であった。講師は南方哲也先生。以前にもご紹介したと思うが、天才の中の天才、
南方熊楠の血縁にあたる先生である。

午前９時から午後４時までみっちり行修に励んだ。香里天風会は毎日曜午前中、日曜行修と称して呼吸法、統一式運動、積極体操
（平和建設運動）、養動法、安定打坐（坐禅）等を行っているが、特別行修として夏の修練会（３日間）と春・秋の一日行修会がある。

参加者は３０名と少し淋しかったが、非常に内容のある充実した行修会であった。

既に１５・６年。毎年同じ事を繰り返し行っているが感じ方は全く違う。不思議なものである。修練を重ねるに従い、
より新鮮味が出てくると言うか、感動が大きくなる。普通は逆だと思うが天風会の教義や修練は、遣ればやるほど感じるものが大きくなる。

Yesterday, it was a one-day autumn meeting of the Kori Tenpukai. The instructor is Mr. Tetsuya Minakata. I’m sure I’ve introduced you to this before, but the genius of the geniuses.
He is a kindred spirit of Minakata Kumagusu.

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., they worked hard on their training. Every Sunday morning, the Shangri-la Tiempukai offers breathing exercises, unified exercises, and vigorous exercises under the name “Sunday Gyo-shu”.
There are also special gyoshu meetings in the summer (three days) and one-day gyoshu meetings in the spring and fall.

Although it was a little lonely with only 30 participants, it was a very rich and fulfilling workshop.

Fifteen and six years already. We do the same thing over and over again every year, but the feeling is completely different. It is a curious thing. As you practice.
It’s more fresh, or so I would say, it’s more impressive. Normally, it would be the other way around, but in the Tenpukai’s doctrine and cultivation, the more you do it, the more you feel.

今、金木犀の花盛り。

駅まで15分。運動を兼ねて毎朝セッセと歩いている。
経路は幾通りかあるが最近は道幅は狭いが一番の近道である旧村中の経路を好んでいる。この経路、
景色は余りよくないが何と言っても香りが素晴らしい。そう、金木犀の香りである。家の庭先や生垣に金木犀が一杯で、
一昨日からいっせいに咲き始めた。何ともいえないほのかな香りを漂わせている。その香りが家の玄関（我が家の庭にもある）
から駅頭近くまでづっと続く・・・・・、特に今日はその香りが強かった。「ほのかな気分」で職場に向うことが出来た。

「 ほのかな気分」でもう一言。今週初日、友人に誘われて夜、北の新地へ・・・、はじめ私の行きつけの店で飲んでいたが、
友がもう一軒と強引に誘う・・・、仕方なくルンルン気分で着いて行く。そこは私が行くような店と違い、何ともごうじゃすな店であった
（酔眼朦朧）。飲むとトイレが近くなる、美人に案内されて小用に・・・。トイレの壁掛に、「犬のおっぽをまくらに、猫のひるさがり」
と書いた笑福亭二鶴の色紙があった。何となく私も「ほのかな気分」になった。

ついでにもう一言。今朝のNHKテレビ。ひとり山里に住む老人が書いた詩が静かなブームになっていると報じていた。「もとめない」
という詩集らしい。人は皆何かを求めて生きているが、何でもかんでも求め過ぎているのでは・・？、そうでなく、本当に必要なものだけ
（例えば心の安らぎ、真の幸福）を求め、後は一切求めない人生。そうする事によって本当に望むものが求められるのでは・・・・。どうも、
そんな思いを詩にしているようである。未だ読んではいないが、多分、「ほのかな気分」になれる様な詩集ではないか、と興味を覚えた。

Right now, the golden osmanthus is in full bloom.

15 minutes to the station. I walk with Sesse every morning to get some exercise.
There are a number of routes, but recently I have been preferring the route in the old village, which is the shortest route although the road is narrower. This path.
The scenery is not great, but the aroma is wonderful. Yes, it is the scent of the golden osmanthus. The garden and hedges of the house are full of golden osmanthus.
It started to bloom all at once the day before yesterday. It gives off an indescribable faint scent. That scent is at the front door of our house (and in our yard).
The scent was especially strong today….. I was able to head to work in a “faint mood.

One more word: “Faintly in the mood. On the first day of this week, my friend invited me to go to the north of the city in the evening… At first, we had a drink at my favorite place.
A friend forcefully invites her to another restaurant….. It was not the kind of place I would go to, but it was a rather rundown place.
(Drunken eyes dazed). Drinking makes you close to the bathroom, and a beautiful woman leads you to the bathroom to run errands… Dog’s Tail in a Sleeper, Cat’s Hunchback” on the wall of the toilet
There was a colored paper of Futatsuru Shofukutei, who wrote, “I don’t know what to do. Somehow, I felt “faint” too.

One more word on a side note. NHK TV this morning. It was reported that a poem written by an old man living alone in a mountain village was experiencing a quiet craze. I don’t want you to.
It seems to be a book of poems called We all live in search of something, but aren’t we asking for too much of everything? No, not really, only the ones that are really necessary.
(e.g., peace of mind, true happiness) and a life that does not seek any of the rest. And in doing so, we can ask for what we really want…. Thank you.
He seems to be writing a poem about such thoughts. I haven’t read it yet, but I was curious that it might be a collection of poems that would give me a “faint feeling”.

またまた同窓会。

今年は還暦という事で何かと同年代の集まりが多くある。なかでも同窓会というのは良いものである。同窓会は、大、高、中、
小とあるが、大概は小・中学校は一緒なので中学以上の同窓会が一般的なようであるが、結びつきは下に下がるほど強い。

なかでも今回集まったのは、私の出身地隠岐之島のひとつの島、西ノ島の内のひとつの地区、
大山と呼ばれる戸数６０戸程の集落の同級生の集まりである。　何ともローカルな話しである。
これ以上ローカルな集まりは無いくらいローカルである。ところがローカルであればあるほど結束は強い。戸数６０戸で同級生は13人、
戦後のベビーブームとは言いながらもの凄い出生率である。因みに今はと云うと、同じ大山地区で小学生が総勢２?３人、
過疎と少子化でお先真っ暗と言わざるを得ない状況にある。

３連休の初日、6日（土）の朝は早や5時過ぎに眼が覚めた。そう今日は大山の同級が鳥取県の皆生温泉に集まる日。
ルンルン気分でもはや寝ように寝れない・・・、妻を起こさぬようにと気を使いながら寝床をはなれたが、「もうー・・お父さんは、
小学生でもあるまいに・・・」と、からかい気味に怒られる。9時半出発の予定であったがどうも落ち着かず9時に出発、
吹田と姫路に寄って同級生を拾い、一路皆生温泉へ、皆生着16時。

集まったのは11名。13名の内一人は中学2年の時、一人は昨年他界した。
従って生存者11名で全員集ったと言いたいが一人どうしても体調不十分で参加できず、
飛び入りで地区は違うが大山大好きの同級生が代理出席してくれた。

18時車座になって宴会が始まった。30分もしない内に殆どが幼児返り、男女の隔てなく全て呼び捨てかチャンづけであり、
みごとに昔に返っている。御歳60歳の男女が○○ちゃんと呼び合い全く違和感が無い、
産まれたときから一緒で小学校も中学校も片道40分の地道を行き帰りした仲である、中には高校まで一緒であった奴もいる。
第三者から見れば異様な光景と思うが当人同士に違和感があろうはずがない。結局床に着いたのが1時半であった。
ところが朝は早や6時には起きていた。

Another reunion.

This year, since it’s my 60th birthday, there are many gatherings of the same age. The reunion is a good one in particular. The reunion was held at the University, High School, Middle
It says “small,” but since elementary and middle school are generally the same, it seems that reunions for middle school and above are common, but the ties are stronger the further down the line.

This year’s gathering was the first of its kind in a district of Nishinojima, one of the islands of my hometown, Oki-no-jima.
It is a group of classmates from a village of about 60 households called Oyama.　It’s a very local story.
It is so local that there is no more local gathering. However, the more local you are, the stronger the unity is. It’s 60 units, 13 classmates.
Despite the post-war baby boom, the birth rate is amazing. By the way, there are a total of two or three elementary school students in the same Oyama area.
We are in a situation where the population is depopulated and the birthrate is declining.

On the morning of the 6th (Saturday), the first day of three consecutive holidays, I woke up as early as five o’clock. Today is the day that Oyama’s classmates gather at Kaike Onsen in Tottori Prefecture.
I couldn’t go back to sleep because I felt so happy…, I left the bed, trying not to wake up my wife, but I said, “Dad…
We were supposed to leave at 9:30, but we didn’t feel comfortable and left at 9:00.
I stopped at Suita and Himeji, picked up my classmate, and went to Kaike Onsen, arriving at Kaike at 16:00.

There were 11 people gathered, one of the 13 was in the eighth grade, and one passed away last year.
Therefore, I’d like to say that we had 11 survivors, but one of us couldn’t attend because he wasn’t feeling well enough.
One of my classmates who loves Oyama, though he is from a different district, attended the event as a substitute.

In less than half an hour, most of them turned into toddlers, and all of the men and women, regardless of whether they were male or female, called each other out or chanted, and the banquet began at 18:00.
It’s a wonderful return to the past. A man and a woman, 60 years old, calling each other “pussy”, it doesn’t make any sense at all.
They have been together since birth, and have traveled 40 minutes one way to elementary and junior high school, some of them even went to high school together.
From a third party’s point of view, it may seem strange, but there is no reason why there should be any discomfort between them. After all, it was 1:30 when we arrived on the floor.
However, I was up as early as 6:00 in the morning.
