7月25（金）・26（土）・27（日）の3日間、
財団法人天風会香里賛助会の夏期特別研修会（修練会）が開催された。

天風会行事の中で最も重要視されるのが盛夏の中で行われる、この特別研修会である。3日間、朝８時から夕方5時まで、
短パン一つで体操・実験・座禅・講義などみっちりと修養に勉めるのである。猛暑の中での3日間は可也きついものがある。
朝夕の体操の時間を除いた約６時間は畳の上での正座もしくは半跏趺坐で座っていなければならない。何よりもこれが大変である、
背筋をピンと伸ばし・・・午後からは睡魔との闘いである。処が何故か3日間の修養を終えると何ともいえない充足感に包まれる。
不思議なものである。

修養の内容は毎年同じ。入会して16年、毎年同じ研修を受けて来たが感じ方はその都度違う。
参加メンバーや講師の違いもあるが一番の違いは自分の心の態度であろう。その点今年は充実していた。
景気が悪く経済的には最悪の状況であるが故に、逆に気持ちは引き締まざるを得ないが為か・・・。

Straighten up your spine…you’ll be battling sleepiness in the afternoon. For some reason, when I finished my three-day retreat, I was filled with an indescribable sense of fulfillment.
It is a curious thing.

The content of the retreat is the same every year. I’ve been a member for 16 years and I’ve received the same training every year, but the feeling is different each time.
There are some differences between the participants and the lecturers, but the biggest difference is probably the attitude of one’s heart. In that respect, this year was fulfilling.
This is because the economy is in a bad state and the economy is in the worst state, so we have to tighten up our spirits…

先々週突然田舎の前町長（現、隠岐観光?社長）から電話、「松谷さん、突然のお願いなんですが７月１８日のジェット機初飛行の搭乗者が余りにも少ないので何とか協力願えませんでしょうか・・、」、「また突然の話ですね・・」、「とにかく大阪へ行きますから、詳細はその時に・・」、と云う事で、隠岐観光の社長が翌々日来社。詳細は次の通り。
隠岐へのジェット機就航は７月１８日から８月末までの４０日間、期間限定による就航で、しかも搭乗率が８０％を切ると翌年は飛ばないと云う厳しいもの。
その為、８０％の搭乗者率確保は町を上げての至上命題である。ところが７月１９・２０・２１が連休で、この３日間は何とかなるが初便の１８日がいまのところ３０％の予約しかない。そこで急遽、「隠岐の観光大使に応援を・・」となった様である。
余りにも急な話。出郷者に里帰りを諭し、ジェット機利用をお願いして欲しいとの意向であったが、それは一寸。そこで、所属する船場ロータリークラブのメンバーに「私の故郷、隠岐へ」と声を掛けたところ、「一度行って見たいと思っていた・・・」と云う連中が直ぐに８名集まり、私を含む９名で急遽隠岐ツアー
を企画。１８・１９・２０日の２泊３日で隠岐ノ島へ行ってきた。

18日、隠岐空港着。今年の初便客を、幼稚園児が踊りで歓迎してくれた。

It’s too sudden. It was his intention to encourage people from his hometown to return to their hometown and ask them to take a jet plane, but that’s not quite right. When I asked the members of the Funaba Rotary Club to go to Oki, my hometown, they said, “I’ve been wanting to go there once…,” and 8 people got together at once, and 9 people including me hurriedly went on an Oki tour.
We went to Oki-no-jima Island in 18, 19 and 20 days and nights.

先般、所属する天風会のゴルフコンペが、三木ゴルフ場で開催された。主催は、
財団法人天風会大阪賛助会。今年４月、
小生が代表を務める香里天風会も財団の賛助会となった為、大阪よりお誘いを受けた。
誘われれば断る訳に行かない、香里を代表して渋々ルンルン気分で参加。

開催３ケ月前に案内を受け、早速申し込んだが、以来何の連絡もなし。当日、三木ゴルフに着いたが、
やはり案内もなければコンペカウンターもなし。一般カウンターで受付を済ませたものの「もしかしたら中止か？、それとも日時間違いか？」。
初参加で、しかもメンバー表も組み合わせも貰っていないため、誰が参加するのかも判らない。一様ゴルフウエアーに着替え用意はしたが、
周囲を見まわしても知った顔は一人も居ない。、いったいどないなっているのか・・・不安は募るばかり？。

そこに救いの神、香里の指導をして下さっている南方先生がニコニコ顔で玄関から入って来た。
｢先生お早うございます！！」、やはり間違っていなかった・・、
心底ひと安心。

4組16名のコンペであったが既に何十回と重ねているコンペで、会場も三木ゴルフと決まっており、参加者は常連ばかり。従って、
極めて簡素化し幹事に負担が余り掛からない様にしている事が後でよくわかった。流石天風会員のゴルフ、合理的である。

コンペ結果。初参加は優勝なしと決まっており、２位を狙ったが惜しくも３位、ただ、ベスグロであった。優勝者は何とネット６２。
但し、ハンディー５２を持っていた。、これも驚きであったがもうひとつビックリしたのが表彰式。優勝から１２位まで賞があり、
表彰式後に賞の袋を全て回収、次回にまたその袋を使うらしい。合理的と云うか何と云うか・・、流石の天風先生も、天国で苦笑しているのでは。

満足いく成績でゴルフを終え、大阪賛助会のメンバーとも懇親を深め、ニコニコ気分で一路我が家へ。
三木東インターから高速に乗ろうと田舎道を走っていると、「千躰地蔵→　」
との看板が眼に入った、ムム・・千躰地蔵。
咄嗟にハンドルを右に切っていた。１分も走ったであろうか、何の変哲もない山すそに千躰地蔵。素朴この上ないような朽ちかけた地蔵さんと、
真新しい綺麗な地蔵さんが如何にも自由奔放に、勝手気ままに置かれている。その数が千躰を数えると云うのであろう・・・。
その地蔵さんに自然と手を合わせる。何となく幼児返りしたような素直な気持ちになれた。

We finished the golf course with a satisfactory result, got to know the members of the Osaka Support Society, and went home with a smile on our faces.

We naturally put our hands together to this Jizo-san. Somehow, it made me feel like a reverted toddler, straightforward.

昨日7月7日、船場ロータリークラブの初例会が北区のウェスティンホテルで開催された。
船場ロータリーの例会場は中央区の日航ホテル32階であるが、初例会や新年例会など特別な例会は場所を変えて行うのが通例となっている。

7月に初例会？、と思われるでしょうが、元々ロータリークラブの発生はアメリカであり、ルール等も何かとアメリカぽいものが多い。
そこで、ロータリー年度も7月1日から翌６月30日と定められている。

で、今年度、小生、「幹事」
の大役を仰せつかった。ロータリーと云うのは読んで字の如くで、まわるのである。マーク（エンブレム）も、その通り歯車である。所謂、
皆が平等で役務も１年毎に廻る（変わる）、しかも、指名されたら文句を言わずに受けると云うのが暗黙のルールとなっている。ただ、会長、
幹事は大役と云うこともあって、会長は就任２年前に使命を受け、副会長、会長ヱレクトと２年間の研修期間を経て就任、
幹事は１年前に指名され副幹事を経て幹事となる。

来年６月末まで１年間、何かとクラブの雑務と会長の補佐役を務めなければならない。所属する船場ロータリーは、
今期４７名で２１年目のスタートとなる。創立時５０名でスタートし、１０年で約７０名（私が入会した時）
と順調であったが以後衰退の一途で一時４５名にまで減り、２０周年には何とか５０名にまでは挽回しようと頑張った。
結果４９名で２０周年を迎えたが、２０周年を機に２名の退会者があり、今期は４７名のスタートと相成った。

会員数４７名とは云え大半が会社経営者で業種も違う。海千山千というか、小なりと云えども一国の主の集まりであり、
個性豊かな人が多いのは当然のこと。その集いの幹事役である。何とか船出はしたものの船頭多くして船すすまずでは困る。
昨日の懇親会でも８０歳の最長老より、「会の運営は会長が３割、幹事が７割。幹事の力量で会の良し悪しが決まる・・。
頑張れ・・ただ肩を張らずに」とのお言葉を賜った。何とも・・トホホ・・・である。
