Even though the new fiscal year (FY29) has started, I haven’t updated the blog at all, and a few blog lovers all over the country complained about it, so I finally went to my computer. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, for some reason, I’m so busy that I can’t even take my lunch. I wonder if this is my age…etc. Anyway, I can’t handle things (not only at work) the way I think they should be, and the time just goes by…

The company has been in business for 39 years and has been a corporation for 37 years. There were many mountains and valleys, but all went well. The previous year ended with record sales and profits. We are very grateful to our customers and employees for this. Thank you so much!

On a different note, this morning’s Yomiuri Shimbun posted an article in the Airflow column titled “No need for a return gift for Furusato taxation”, and it seems that the number of people who use Furusato taxation as a return gift is increasing rapidly, but if you are willing to honestly support the local government you grew up in, don’t you need a return gift? The idea was that there was something wrong with both taxpayers and local governments.

There is a part of me that is convinced that this is true, but it is also true that society has not been built on clean talk. I have a tendency to look at things with a sense of commerce, and I think it is only natural to try to attract as many people as possible to “Furusato Taxation”, and I think it is also natural to have a taxpayer’s psychology. One other thing I would like to mention is that the return gift is actually contributing to the creation of local communities in an unexpected way: the 100 million yen in return for the Furusato tax payment is about 30 million yen in local products (agricultural and marine products). In the Oki Islands, where I was born and raised, 30 million is quite a bit of industry. If the government buys up these local products and allocates them to return goods, it will promote the industry to a certain extent. Hometown taxes and refunds, no mockery for local communities.

In this month’s Bungei Shunju, the governor of Fukui Prefecture, an advocate of “furusato taxation”, sounded a warning whistle on the issue of electoral districts and the population ratio, and gave his personal opinion on regional development. The reality of the world is that nothing can be settled by dogmatism or pretense.

This morning, as I was reading the newspaper, I thought of this… In any case, I’ll try to update the blog a little more, reflections.
